HÀ NỘI — Lưu Thị Chúc My of Việt Nam came third in the women’s 四 八kg snatch event at the ongoing IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
My lifted 七 二kg after her third attempt, earning her a bronze medal at her world debut.
He Si of China won gold, lifting 八 一kg. Han Jong-sim from North Korea placed second with a result of 七 九kg.
In the clean jerk event, My was eighth with 八 五kg. In total she placed fourth.
My grabbed 二 二 points for Việt Nam in the team ranking.
Late yesterday, Nguyễn Thị Thủy Tiên placed 一 五th in the women’s 五 三kg, and scored 一 一 points. Võ Thị Ngọc Thanh was 一 八th in the same event, with eight points.
